This training will guide participants in working with clients who do not share gender and/or sexual identities with their therapist. We will focus on training therapists who are cisgender or non-Queer/straight in working with Trans and/or Queer clients, but will also touch on ethical and practice considerations for other gender and sexual identity pairings. We will cover such topics as Trans and Queer cultural norms, common societal experiences relevant to Queer and Trans clients, considerations for working with clients who have non-dominant gender and sexual identities, and in-depth self-reflection aimed at addressing unconscious bias.
Admission choices include a rate for CE Credit and an accessibility rate for clinicians who will not receive CE credit. Please be attentive to your selection at checkout. Please note that no attendees who select this admission will be issues CE credit.
This workshop is approved for 2 Ethics synchronous and asynchronous CE hours for Social Workers and 2 Ethics synchronous CE hours only for Professional Counselors licensed in Georgia. Counselors must attend the synchronous event to receive CE credit; recording access is available but will not count for asynchronous CE hours for counselors.
