Eating Disorders and Body Image in a “Skinny tok” world: Intro into Eating Disorders and Body Image Care
April 23, 2025 from 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM, virtual via Zoom
This introductory workshop designed to help clinicians navigate eating disorder and body image care within a culture deeply rooted in diet culture and weight stigma. Participants will gain foundational knowledge of eating disorders, including different types of ED’s and warning signs, while exploring how body image concerns show up across clients, even when we may not realize it. We will emphasize weight-inclusive, non-diet, and trauma-informed approaches, from an IFS/part work lens, offering practical guidance on how to support clients without reinforcing weight loss goals or harmful messaging.
Herani Argoe is a trauma and body image and Eating Disorder therapist, speaker, and consultant in the metro Atlanta area. She is IFS level 1 and 2 trained, with specific training in IFS and Eating Disorders. Herani enjoys bringing inclusion, fun, knowledge, and empowerment to therapy and speaking spaces for others to feel held, seen, and ready to take on what’s next. She is also passionate about supporting clinicians in creating safe, ethical, and inclusive spaces for clients to heal. In her free time she likes to spend time outside, bake, and shamelessly watch reality tv.
Admission choices include a rate for CE Credit and an accessibility rate for clinicians who will not receive CE credit. Please be attentive to your selection at checkout. Please note that no attendees who select this admission will be issues CE credit.
This workshop is pending approval for 3 Core CE hours for Social Workers and Professional Counselors licensed in Georgia.
