


Half-Day Admission - Beyond the Barriers: Caring for the Whole System in Substance Use Treatment
Please note that this admission choice is for a half-day only - if you register under this admission, you will only be permitted to attend 3.25 hours of the day’s contents (3 CE hours).
When you register, you must select which half of the day you will be attending.
This day-long workshop will provide a systemic perspective for the care of a person recovering from problematic substance use. Topics will cover several aspects of working with a person or family system affected by problematic substance use. Presenters will cover the following 90-minute sections:
Common considerations in working with an individual with problematic substance use behaviors, such as level of care, inpatient versus outpatient interventions, and utilizing a harm reduction framework
Treating religious trauma, with special considerations for working with people living in the Southern U.S. and LGBTQIA+-identified people
Working with a family system affected by a member’s problematic substance use utilizing a systems perspective and involving each member of the family unit in care
Providing care for someone impacted by their loved one’s problematic substance use, including adult children, partners, parents, and community members of substance users

This event is pending approval for 6 Core CE hours for Social Workers, Professional Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists licensed in Georgia.
