Join us for a training led by our guest presenter, Jessica Alexander, LMFT.
This training is designed to help clinicians who are currently working or plan to work with adolescents learn how to incorporate family therapy and begin to look at self-harm through a systemic lens. The action of self-harm has a certain connotation in society, but by looking more into what the behavior tells us as clinicians, new interventions and connection with caregivers can be formed. Through open dialogue and vignettes, each participant will have the opportunity to reflect on how they might handle these different scenarios and share what interventions they have used.
Jessica Alexander is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of Georgia and Tennessee. Jessica has worked at all levels of treatment and spent a few years working at a local psychiatric hospital. It was here that she wanted to be a light for people in the darkness and hold space for their struggles. She has spent the last 5.5 years working with primary substance use and worked in a PHP/IOP program as the clinical director. Jessica loves to facilitate group therapy as she feels that group therapy can bring about a lot of change and create support for those struggling and leaves everyone feeling more connected than when they started their day. Jessica currently has a private practice in Kennesaw, Georgia called Two Roads Therapy where she works with clients aged 4th grade and up who struggle with anxiety, depression, addiction, family challenges, self-esteem issues, and more.

This workshop is pending approval for 3 CORE CE hours for Social Workers and Professional Counselors licensed in Georgia.
